Rhino Roller Garage Doors as standard includes a new and cleverly engineered connection from the steel barrel to the door curtain.
The elipsed rings provide smoother opening and closing and hugely reduce the noise of the curtain as it operates. The locking ring that holds the door curtain in the closed position and pulls the door curtain upwards, is a huge improvement over the conventional method other manufacturers use, thus providing your Roller Doors 4 Garages door with a much improved level of reliability and longevity. Each Roller door includes a safety brake device, which is EU compliant and provides you with additional peace of mind should a fault appear.
At Rhino Roller Garage Doors we take the approach that quality and reliability in everything we do is what we are judged on each and every day.
We work with only the very best suppliers who have similar beliefs as we do. Although we design our products to last, marking may occur at the top pf the concave (coil) side of the curtain over time. This is unavoidable and due to prolonged contact with the locking
What space requirements are needed for a roller door?
We will need 300 mm above the opening of the door to fit our full box system so it's completely hidden from outside view. If you don't have the 300 mm above the opening that's no problem we can lower the the box down it just means that the box fascia will be on show from outside, but this is quite common, and it looks fine from outside.
What colours are available?
We offer a wide range of colours to ensure your new garage door not only looks good for years to come, but also matches the look you’re after, from powdercoat finishes through to laminates, we offer a wide range of colours to suit your needs. Getting the right colour is important to ensure that the look of your new door suits the surrounds and environment it sits in.
Our powdercoat finish is available in a wide range of colours, and finished in a sleek eggshell textured surface. In addition to the powdercoat finish, we also offer all our garage doors in an attractive grained textured laminate.
For our Golden Oak and Rosewood doors we offer matching guide rails with both half and full box options, ensuring the best looking fit and finish on your garage door. From solid colours through to the laminate wood finish, we can make sure that your surround looks as good as the door itself.
Notes on colour
Door guides and boxes are available in colours matching the door curtain, except laminate door colours, (supplied in brown). Coloured guide rails are supplied as standard, however, they may not match the lath colour. The manufacturing process for the lath results in a textured finish, whilst all other coloured items (guides, bottom laths, lock laths, optional fascias and vision panels) are supplied in a satin finish, so cannot be guaranteed to match exactly. Over time some scuffng may occur on front and rear surfaces of doors as a result of their normal operation.
What distance will the remote control operate from?
The distance the remote control will work from varies on the area around the home and garage if there is a lot of trees or buildings about then this can interfere with the signal, but generally it will work from about 25 meters.
How should I maintain my door?
No grease or oil should be applied to any part of the door. The exterior of the door should be washed regularly to keep and salt of grit off the surface. Ensure all electrical cables are securely attached to the wall and are undamaged.
Can I still operate my door if the power fails?
In the event of a power failure the door can be manually operated with a handcrank.
An external override is available as an option for garages with no other entrance.
What if my door gets damaged?
If you have damaged any of the slats then we can slide them out and replace them, you don’t have to replace all of the door.
How long till my door arrives and is fitted?
We will look to fit your door within 3-4 weeks from date of order, the maximum time for fitting is 3 months.
Why do roller garage door prices vary so much?
This is really a quite obvious question to answer yourself if you have enough time to carry out the research and travel around to see a lot of the roller garage doors offered in the UK. They may all look the same in a glossy brochure with the only variation seemingly the colour and very subtle curtain slat finishes but there are some very, very big differences when it comes to the components used and the quality of the motor and spring operating mechanism.
A cheap roller garage door using low quality components and electric parts will only produce one result , it just depends how long this takes – failure!! We deal with requests every week from people who have had a roller garage door which has failed and the company has now ceased trading and do we know where to obtain replacement parts from? Many times we do not as they are parts not stocked in the UK and this requires that a much bigger, complicated repair be carried out on the roller door to replace all the parts to conform with CE regulations and give a serviceable door.
“It’s unwise to pay too much, but it’s worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money – that’s all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot – it can’t be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.” Everyone will tell you the roller door they are selling is the best one to buy, that should be obvious, but take your time to find out why they think their roller door is the best and you may get a lot of different replies.
Start with the basics, any good roller garage door will have a 5 year guarantee on the electric motor and good guarantees on the curtain finish, anything up to 10 years. The curtain slats most commonly used are normally 77mm deep and about 12-14mm thick and have a foam filled core. The best quality slats are produced in Germany. Cheaper, thinner and not so strong slats come in from other parts of the world and when the slats have any imperfections in manufacturing the results can be disastrous for a whole door curtain, with each slat not quite lining up properly the roller door will look second hand the day it is installed.
Security is another big issue with roller garage doors as many can be easily broken into due to very fragile components holding the roller curtain in place. Higher quality roller doors like Doors 4 Garages Door have a level 1 security rating as recognised by the LPCB. 0ur range of roller doors are all derived from many years of manufacturing continental style security roller shutters for windows and doorways so security is always a key part of any new products they launch.
Direct sales companies are another reason some roller shutter doors are seemingly very expensive. A simple, old method of sales offering the salesman high levels of commission for however much he can get away with charging on a sliding scale means if you are not paying attention as a customer you may well end up paying well over the going rate for a product that is no better than anyone other roller door. Also because it is possible to get a roller door into practically any garage door opening the pricing is simple using a matrix price list based on some rough measurements which can then be followed up by a ‘proper survey’ by a surveyor which determines exact sizes but rarely changes the price.
Of course you have to remember the old saying ‘buy cheap and buy twice’ because for roller garage doors this is certainly true with examples of roller doors we have seen many times where the door does not even last a year and trying to get the problem sorted can be impossible.
Buy cheap with roller garage doors and you will almost certainly buy twice!! Do not be tempted by silly low prices with roller doors as they will definitely let you down very quickly. Make sure your door is compliant with CE regulations and has a bottom edge safety detection system as standard.
